  1. @consoles are dying:
    Apparently a lot of game publishers do not like his point. I mean why charge the customer once when you can charge once per each platform he owns?

    My interpretation to what he’s saying is this: forget about developing software just for consoles. Consoles only are a risky business. Go for all platforms instead.

    Now, what’s funny is that if consoles do lose exclusivity for some games, the consoles market might die ‘for real’.

    @Warhammer Online overcharging players:
    Moose_Head hinted me the news, so I had to mention it here too.

    I say class action lawsuit.

    Because there’s one lesson everybody knows: you don’t f**k up with people’s money. This is like shoving your hand in the customer’s pockets for his wallet.

    Matt also mentioned that accounts that were previously canceled got reactivated and billed.

    So, class action lawsuit.

    @Activision and Infinity Ward head honchos
    Activision is crapping its pants. Because MW was a good cash cow, and now with the legal dispute, they can’t milk it.
    Because the two from Infinity Ward might actually produce a game that will wipe out Modern Warfare.
    So, that’s why Activision is reacting like that, if you ask me. Because they’re genuinely scared. Not as much from the legal battle, but because they just realized they lost two valuable people.

    @question of the week:
    I see the iPad as a flop. So the answer is no.

  3. Nice to have you back guys.

    QotW – In my opinion Ipad won’t steal the mobile gaming market share. Iphone hasn’t really taken this market share, as the only people that can use the Iphone games are people on an Iphone contract.

    As for the Ipad, I consider it a glorified touch screen display. I know that is missing the point of the system, but when there are already people using and Ipad with an external keyboard, some of the owners are not getting it right!
    I also don’t think you can interpret the Ipad as a device to use on the go. Please tell me I’m wrong, but surely its tough to hold it in one hand and use the other to play the games unless you’re sat down.

  5. YES! R-Type pwnz! It was ridiculously hard! Especially R-Type Delta, it was enough to make you throw down your controller in frustration, but pick it back up again for more punishment.

  9. Lets hope the console market dies, in fact, if I could, I’d kill it myself. Consoles are definitely hurting PC gaming. Devs take shortcuts and sometimes under-develop their game for a console then port it to the PC without even taking advantage of PC features. This is especially true with games made for the 360, why? Developers can code a game in XNA Studio (which is mostly C#) and it will work on both.

    Long story short, I would not grieve for the loss of console gaming.
