Gaming Podcast 206: Drowning in Phlegm

This week we’re a bit sick, but the gaming podcast goes on regardless! We can’t seem to get away from the current hot topics of the week mostly involving Sony and hacking in the same sentences.  This week’s news includes:

  • Sony Sues Geohot and fail0verflow Team
  • Professor Labels Sony’s Suit “Breathtakingly Stupid
  • UbiSoft’s Walfisz Frets About PS3 Piracy
  • New PS3 Exploit Features Trophy Hacking
  • Modern Warfare 2 “Unplayable” on PSN
  • Blizzard: Heroic Cataclysm Dungeons Not Too Hard
  • THQ May Continue Price Experiment On More Games

This week Jonah gives out his review on Plants vs. Zombies and Bejeweled Blitz for XBLA and, giving away his copy of Plants vs. Zombies for the DS. This weeks question of the week, are you going to get a Nintendo 3DS?

  1. @PS3 hacking:
A lawsuit is not the way. Somebody else will re-discover the exploit and he/she won’t bother to make a press release around it. The exploit will be refined and quietly distributed around cracking teams, and piracy WILL be rampant on PS3.

And yes, besides Sony, I can see this hack being a reason for concern for people who rely on DRM for revenue rather than in making good games.
I mean I saw how some producers and devs decided to do console exclusives in order to avoid PC piracy. However, I also saw how CoD4 had huge sales, on both PC and consoles.

Here’s my message: if you want to make money, make good games. Piracy is and will always be present.

A lawsuit only helps in damaging Sony’s image.

@THQ May Continue Price Experiment On More Games
I think it was a model called “game and expansions” 😛
Derrick, you remark “it should still be a full game” will be the point that could spark angry discussions between customers.

    @QOTW:
No. I’m not impressed by portables.

Lol! The Google ads for this episode point to cough and cold medicines …

  2. I would like to get the 3DS for the older games like pilot wings an hope they bring back others from the N64

I would like to win PvZ to play it for my first time

  3. Why do I deserve Plants vs. Zombies for the DS? Well, I don’t, but my daughter does! She’s been asking for new DS games, and she’s never experienced the sheer awesomeness of this game. I’d love to get her hooked on this one 🙂

  4. Yes, now that we know more info about it, I’m putting in my pre-order for the 3DS today.

There’s a heap of games that I’m looking forward to, the online features look massively improved, and the graphics look amazing.

  5. I’d want to win PvsZ because I’ve heard so many good things about it! For a relatively small game, it seems to spark a lot of popularity among a lot of people! I wouldn’t mind giving it a try!

  6. I have to win the PVZ ds cartridge because I have been waiting for it for so long already & most games I have right now really suck, at least i could have one decent game on my collection. 🙂

  7. I am so glad I found this website. I have been waiting to get this game for years. It would be awesome if I won. Once I get my Nintendo DS fixed (it’s broken) and I have the game… I’ll be happy for the rest of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. All my games suck, but now then I heard there was a PVZ DS giveaway. It would be nice if I had at least had the game. It beats watching tv.
Please… it would be a miracle for me if I won.

  9. Hi, it’s me again. BTW I have to save if i want this game but it is going to take me AAAAAAAAGES.
But this giveaway is a chance where I do not have to. Please let me win!
