  1. You never saw The Last Starfighter?

    1. It’s the first time CGI replaced model SFX. You’ll notice how primitive the CGI is for the Star Car and the Gunstars, but it’s the first time CGI was used in that way.

    2. It was Robert Preston’s last role before his death. He’s great in it, even though he’s basically playing “Professor Harold Hill in Space”.

    3. The story is Star Wars Farmboy becomes Hero, but it works.

    4. The great, memorable lines (“Back to sleep, Louis, or I’m telling Mom about your Playboys!”) (“Did Galuka think the Uuloos were to ugly to save?”) (“You know how much it cost to produce the games? To get them out before Christmas?)

    It’s great fun and you’ll be addicted.
