  1. @Sony NGP
    3G is the new standard for data transmission. It does both voice and internet data, using CDMA as opposed to TDMA like in ‘regular’ GSM cell phones.

    I like the idea of a second touch screen, on the back. It somehow frees the developer from the constraints of a fixed set of buttons.

    The main issue with the NGP is the same issue with any Sony product: price. Rumors say it might even go around 1K.

    Jonah has a point: backward compatibility is a great feature. But! It should be the norm, not a key point.

    @Sony Believes 3D “Isn’t Right” For Handhelds:
    Thank you, guy who hinted this news piece 🙂
    About paralax barrier displays, it doesn’t matter the size of the display. Be it TV or handheld, the optimal visualization angle is narrow. It will work for one person, but no for several.

    @Nintendo’s Iwata Weighs In On NGP:
    Ha ha ha 😀 Translation: we do innovation, the others (Sony) oppose us 😀

    @BioWare On MMO Risk/Reward Balance
    Even with instant respawn in TF2, reaching the hotspot from the respawn area takes time. And in that time, the other team can win.
    Now! In an MMO the time factor is not that important, so the penalties must be different.

    @Question of the week:
    Dunno. Rushing something out can end up with them making other mistakes. Also, even if useless, Sony must do something for the PS3, otherwise they lose the remaining confidence of the developers and publishers.
    They should minimize the group of people that handle the PS3 and focus on the next one. But they can’t just dump it.

    I think I mentioned this before, but I don’t see too many Sony exclusive titles from now on.
